How RentRight handles your data

This policy explains how RentRight handles information for shared rent records, receipts, property communication, shortlet listings, bookings, and related rental tools.

Information We Collect

Account details such as your name, email address, role, and authentication information.
Rental records such as properties, units, tenant invite codes, rent cycles, payment records, receipts, maintenance requests, messages, shortlet listings, and booking details where you choose to use those tools.
Technical information such as device, browser, session, and basic usage data needed to keep RentRight secure and working properly.
Analytics and advertising measurement data such as page views, conversion events, campaign source, device/browser details, and cookie or pixel identifiers used to understand product and campaign performance.

How We Use Information

To create and manage landlord, tenant, shortlet host, and guest experiences.
To keep shared rental records, receipts, messages, maintenance requests, and invite flows available to the right users.
To troubleshoot issues, improve the product, prevent misuse, and support onboarding.
To provide sign-in, payment, notification, hosting, and communication features that you choose to use.
To measure whether campaigns and product journeys on platforms such as Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and similar ad or analytics services are working.

Payments And Notifications

RentRight keeps manual payment records and receipts for tracking and proof. Rent transfer arrangements stay directly between tenants, landlords, and property owners.
When you use an online payment or notification feature, the relevant service provider processes the information required to deliver that feature.

Cookies, Pixels, And Analytics

RentRight may use cookies, pixels, scripts, and similar technologies to understand site usage, measure signups, and evaluate paid or organic campaigns.
These tools may be provided by analytics, advertising, hosting, or platform partners and are subject to their own privacy terms where they process data for measurement or security.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some product, security, or measurement features may not work the same way when blocked.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information.
We share information only where needed to provide the product, operate hosting/authentication/database services, support users, comply with law, or protect RentRight and its users.
Landlords and tenants connected to the same rental record may see the relevant shared records, receipts, messages, and unit information needed for that relationship.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and operational safeguards, including authenticated access and service-provider security controls.
No online service can guarantee perfect security, so users should keep account credentials private and report suspicious activity quickly.

Your Choices

You can ask us to correct, export, or delete information associated with your account where legally and operationally possible.
Some records may need to be retained where they are part of a shared rental history, fraud-prevention trail, legal requirement, or active support case.
